ABOUT Yasemin Boyner
A Student Bridging Cultures to Champion Mental Health
I am Yasemin Boyner, a Grade 11 student at the American School in London. Although I live in the UK, I remain deeply connected to Turkey—my heritage, culture, and identity. I’m passionate about neuroscience, brain health, mental health advocacy, and promoting neurodiversity, especially among youth.
My mission is shaped by this dual identity—blending global perspectives with cultural awareness to create safe, inclusive spaces for young people to talk openly about mental well-being.

CORE Passions
The Causes That Drive My Work
Four pillars guiding my advocacy for student well-being.

Raising awareness about mental health in educational spaces
Promoting neurodiversity awareness (e.g., ADHD, autism, dyslexia)
Challenging stigma and silence around mental health
Empowering students through understanding and empathy
“I’ve seen how stigma in Turkey keeps many students silent. Mental health isn’t just a personal issue—it’s a learning issue. My work aims to make mental well-being part of how we educate and support young people.”

Art History as Investigation
Selected Research and Academic Work
My academic pursuits include AP Art History and Harvard’s The Architectural Imagination, where I explored how built environments mirror societal structures. I approach research not just as analysis, but as storytelling—connecting form, context, and history to better understand how art shapes human experience across time.

Leadership & Initiatives
Leading Through Creativity and Purpose
Initiatives That Reflect My Commitment to Impact
Leadership for me is about initiating change where it matters. Founding KindKanvasPH was one part of it, but I’ve also led guided tours through Manila’s historic districts, worked alongside restoration teams, and advocated for cultural legislation. Through these roles, I’ve learned to build programs that not only inform—but involve.
